This quarter's House Arrest App update focuses on the moments participants interact with most: check-ins and curfew alerts. Here's what changed and why.
Faster check-ins
Scheduled and random check-ins now complete in a single tap-and-confirm flow, down from three screens. For participants, that means less friction; for officers, it means fewer missed check-ins caused by a confusing app rather than an actual violation.
Clearer curfew alerts
Curfew windows now show a simple countdown directly on the home screen, with a push notification 30 minutes before a window closes. Participants get a fair warning instead of finding out about a violation after the fact.

Every check-in now confirms with a photo and GPS location, so compliance is verified the moment it happens.
A redesigned home screen
- Status at a glance — compliance status, next check-in, and curfew window all appear on one screen.
- Plain-language alerts — notifications now explain what's needed in one sentence, not a code.
- Offline-friendly — check-ins queue and sync automatically once connectivity returns, rather than failing silently.
"Every one of these changes came out of participant support tickets. If people can't figure out the app, that's on us, not them." — Product Team, Guardian GPS
