For years, the only wearable option for location monitoring was an ankle unit — durable and accurate, but not always the right fit for every participant. Today we're introducing the Guardian GPS Monitoring Watch: a wrist-worn alternative built for lower-risk participants who need the same accountability with more day-to-day flexibility.
The Watch reports location on the same real-time cadence as our ankle monitors and connects to the same Officer Dashboard courts and agencies already use — so officers get one dashboard, one alert pipeline, and one compliance record no matter which device a participant is wearing.
Why we built a wrist-worn option
Case managers have asked for a lower-profile device for participants who present a lower flight or compliance risk — people re-entering the workforce, attending school, or in the later stages of a supervision program. An ankle monitor is the right call for many cases, but it isn't the only one. The Watch gives courts and agencies a second tier of hardware without asking them to change platforms, train on a new dashboard, or rewrite their compliance workflow.

The Watch ships with a fast-charge dock and a tamper-evident band, sized for a two-day battery cycle.
What's inside
- Real-time GPS — the same location cadence and geofence accuracy as our ankle monitors, reporting to the Officer Dashboard in real time.
- 2-day battery life — a quick 20-minute dock charge covers a full weekend between charges, with low-battery alerts sent to both the participant and the supervising officer.
- Tamper detection — strap-removal and signal-loss alerts fire the moment they're detected, logged to the same audit trail as every other Guardian GPS device.
- Water-resistant design — built to stay on through a full day of normal wear, including handwashing and light rain.
- Discreet form factor — designed to look like an ordinary fitness watch, reducing the stigma some participants report with a visible ankle unit.
"Not every participant on our caseload needs the same hardware. The Watch lets us match the device to the risk level instead of the other way around." — Compliance Officer, regional pretrial services program
How it fits into your existing program
Nothing changes on the compliance side. Zones, alerts, and reporting all run through the same Officer Dashboard your team already uses — the Watch simply appears as another device type on a participant's profile. Officers can reassign a participant from an ankle monitor to a Watch (or back) without opening a new case file or losing alert history.
